Joey de Leon is not keen on becoming a National Artist

In terms of accomplishments, the triumvirate of Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon, otherwise known as Tito, Vic & Joey or TVJ, is more than ripe for grand recognition.

Many agree.

Some are even pushing for their inclusion to the Order of National Artists, a recognition bestowed on Pinoys who have made significant contributions to the development of Philippine art.

But are they even remotely interested in the same?

Joey made clear his stand on the matter via social media recently.

He wrote, “May nag-suggest gawin na raw kaming National Artists pati ‘Eat Bulaga.’ Sabi ko, ‘WAG NA.' Gawin niyo na lang kaming FUNCTION ALL ARTISTS!”

He then explained, “Kasi we’ve covered nearly everything—radio, TV, newspaper, recording, movies, arts, politics, etc.”

Several fans were quick to comment.

Here are some of them:

Not to mention their contribution to local arts and entertainment.
