The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has extended the deadline for submission of nominations to the 2024 Search for Outstanding Government Workers until April 5.
“In view of the work suspension by 12 noon on March 27 and in observance of the Holy Week until Easter Sunday, March 31, nominations to the 2024 Search for Outstanding Government Workers may still be electronically submitted to the CSC Regional and Field Offices until April 5),” it said in an advisory on March 27.
The Search for Outstanding Government Workers is part of the CSC’s Honor Awards Program, which aims to recognize and reward public service exemplars who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to their work.
By highlighting these outstanding individuals, the CSC hopes to motivate civil servants to improve their performance and become more involved in public service.
Government workers in both career and non-career services, as well as appointive barangay officials, are eligible for nomination in one of the search’s three categories.
The Presidential Lingkod Bayan recognizes outstanding achievements with a national impact, the Outstanding Public Officials and Employees (Dangal ng Bayan) for consistent exemplary behavior, and the CSC Pagasa Awards for contributions to a department, office, community, or region.
Posthumous nominations for public servants who died in the line of duty or while carrying out their official duties and responsibilities are also accepted, as long as they are made within 12 months of death.
However, CSC reminded that job order or contract of service employees are excluded from the coverage of the program.
Awardees are eligible for various prizes and incentives.
Among the benefits are cash prizes, automatic promotion or salary increases equivalent to the next higher position, a one-time executive check-up, and scholarship opportunities for graduate degree programs offered by any of the CSC's partner educational institutions.
