NOI PH was supported by the Department of Science and Technology’s Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI).
Emerging as national champion and gold medalist this year is Filbert Ephraim Wu, a resident of Taguig and a student at Victory Christian International School.
Placing second and winning a silver medal is Jerome Austin Te of the Jubilee Christian Academy.
Wu and Te won bronze medals at the 2023 International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) held in Hungary.
“Having had a meaningful journey in computer science through Informatics Olympiads in the past years, I am fulfilled to have been the National Champion at the 2024 NOI, my last National Informatics Olympiad. I look forward to representing the Philippines in the upcoming International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) this September 2024!” Wu told Manila Bulletin.

He revealed that “this year's NOI was just as intense as the previous years' -- contestants like me had ten hours spread across two days to solve eight tasks. The live scoreboard added to the suspense, making the NOI a spectator sport and increasing the stakes in fast, accurate coding. Though rankings fluctuated wildly throughout the contest, I maintained a steady pace and finished first despite early setbacks.”
“I thank the NOI organizers for a nearly flawless NOI this year, and I am eager to train under their guidance over the summer in preparation for the IOI. Further ahead, I anticipate contributing to the NOI as a problem setter and trainer, passing on my knowledge and propagating the premier competitive programming organization for Filipino high schoolers,” added Wu.
