NCT Dream sells 1.32 million copies of new album 'Dream()Scape' on first day of release

K-pop boy band NCT Dream sold 1.32 million copies of their new album on the first day of release to set a new personal record. 

NCT Dream released their new mini-album “Dream()Scape” on March 25. 

According to Hanteo Chart, “Dream()Scape” sold 1.32 million copies on the first day of release on March 25, higher by 167,620 copies compared to their last album “ISTJ,” which garnered first-day sales of 1.16 million.

The total for “Dream()Scape” is NCT Dream’s highest first day sales among all their albums. This topped Hanteo Chart’s daily physical album chart for March 25. 

During their media showcase for the new album, Mark said, "We've so far shown our passionate, hopeful and bright sides, but this time we've prepared an album that those without a dream or those searching for a dream can sympathize with," the Korea Herald reported. 

He added, “"We also have pain, and there were times when we didn't have a dream, so I think we can embrace people who have a similar feeling.” 

The album’s main track is "Smoothie," a hip-hop song with lyrics that will challenge prejudices and criticisms towards the group. 

"Usually, smoothies have a refreshing and sweet image, but we have a black smoothie in the music video. We crush negative emotions and turn them into a smoothie," added Mark.

After the album’s release, NCT Dream will embark on their “The Dream Show 3” world tour in May.
