Fisherman rescued from submerged motor banca

DINAPIGUE, Isabela – A fisherman was rescued from a submerged motor banca in the sea of Barangay Dimalwade here on Tuesday, March 26.

The Coast Guard Station-Isabela said that Ogie Usbal, 34, took a rest while fishing before dawn.

He was awakened when his motor banca was battered by big waves which caused the vessel to
drift and hit a rocky part of the shoreline.

The incident was reported to the Coast Guard Station-Isabela which deployed a rescue team accompanied by other groups to rescue Usbal.

Rescuers found and secured the motor banca. A nearby boat – the MB Rojan Ranger – towed the motor banca to Dilasag, Aurora.

Usbal underwent a medical checkup and found to be in good condition.
