The local government of Caloocan City announced on Wednesday, March 27, that it launched the “Alalay sa Manlalakbay” program aimed at ensuring the safety of the public during the observance Holy Week.

According to the city’s public information office, the city government has placed rescue units and assistance desks in North and South Caloocan areas to manage the high numbers of devotees and travelers, as well as to respond to any emergency situations.

Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan has ordered local authorities to ensure the peaceful conduct of Holy Week activities.
As of now, we have instructed the operatives of the city government to prepare for the influx of travelers and ensure the smooth and safe implementation of any programs for Semana Santa),” he said.
The city mayor also reminded the public to cooperate and coordinate properly with the city government authorities to prevent any untoward situations.
For the Batang Kankaloo and the public, let's also cooperate with our authorities to ensure our travels are safe and to avoid any mishaps or accidents),” Malapitan said.
Malapitan advised the public to stay vigilant and urged them to reach out to the Alert and Monitoring Hotline, as well as the contact numbers of point persons assigned in various units in the city, to promptly report emergency situations.
The Alert and Monitoring Hotline 888-ALONG(25664) will remain open, along with the contact numbers of team leaders assigned to various rescue units across the city. Let us all take this time to reflect and maintain the sanctity of this season),” he said.
