Warm easterlies will continue to bring hot weather, rains
Heat index in Metro Manila expected to reach 38 to 40°C
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) stated on Tuesday, March 26, that hot weather with chances of rain will persist in parts of the country due to the effects of the easterlies.

During PAGASA’s latest live broadcast, weather specialist Benison Estareja advised the public to still bring umbrellas outdoors, as light to moderate rains or thunderstorms may occur in some areas.
In the Bicol Region, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, and Quezon, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms are expected due to the easterlies, and warm winds from the Pacific Ocean. PAGASA warned the public of potential flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms. PAGASA also cautioned the public about flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
Despite the expectation of cloudy skies and rain, hot weather will still be experienced. Estareja mentioned that a heat index of 38°C to 40°C may be felt in Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley and Casiguran, Aurora.
In parts of Northern Luzon, particularly Dagupan and Pangasinan, hot and humid weather will persist, with the heat index potentially reaching 42°C.
Estareja added that in Visayas, an actual air temperature of 25 to 32°C may prevail, while the heat index may reach 39°C.
In Mindanao, an actual air temperature of 25 to 34°C may persist, but a heat index of 40 to 42°C will be experienced.
