TACLOBAN CITY – One-thousand, nine-hundred fifty-eight newly promoted Police Regional Office-8 officers were sworn in on Monday, March 25.

One-hundred twenty-five were police commissioned officers (PCOs) and 1,833 were police non-commissioned officers (PNCOs).
Eight were promoted to lieutenant colonel, 22 to major, 29 to captain, 66 to lieutenant, 198 to executive master sergeant, 164 to chief master sergeant, 218 to senior master sergeant, 311 to master sergeant, 523 to staff sergeant, and 419 to corporal.
Police Brig. General Reynaldo Pawid, PRO-8 director, said their promotion was a result of the PNP uniformed personnel's merit system that acknowledged their years of unparalleled service and commitment to duty.
Pawid hailed the newly promoted personnel for reaching a significant career milestone as police officers.
He reminded them that their promotion entails increased responsibility and accountability, requiring the best performance in lawful duties.
"Let's prove to the public that our service is pure and straight. Let us help one another to raise our names and ranks by being respectful and disciplined," he said.
Pawid stressed the importance of upholding integrity, open communication, and collaboration in the workplace to foster a positive work environment.
He challenged them to set an example for the public, demonstrating the Philippine National Police as an organization worthy of their respect, trust, and confidence.
“I urge you to bring back the glory to the Lord who made all these possible. The better way to pay back for His blessings is to give honest and truthful service,” he added.
