Police Major Catherine dela Rey, PRO-Davao spokesperson, said that more police personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of the public during the Holy Week.

She said that there would be strict monitoring of vital installations, including bus terminals, seaports, and airports, in anticipation of an influx of passengers going home to their provinces during Holy Week.

PRO-Davao Director Police Brig. Gen. Alden Delvo led the inspection of the Davao International Airport on Monday to check the readiness of police personnel.

She said there would be increased security at tourist destinations, particularly beaches where local tourists are expected to flock for the long holiday, and additional police personnel would be deployed to churches to assist and keep the safety of the devotees attending Masses.

In an advisory, the PRO-Davao reminded the public to keep the doors and windows of their houses locked when they leave, avoid leaving a note outside their residence indicating that they are not home, make sure that all appliances are unplugged, ask their closest neighbor to watch over their house and let them know when they will be back, and avoid posting travels on social media so that no one will know that they are not home.
