Negosyo panalo: Pasig City holds business summit for women
In a bid to expand the knowledge and capabilities of women entrepreneurs, the local government of Pasig City kicked off its two-day 2024 Women Entrepreneurship Summit held this month in celebration of Women's Month.

A total of 100 women entrepreneurs participated in the event held at Chardonnay by Astoria in Pasig City, where they learned the different aspects of starting a business.
They also learned the creation of business plans discussed by Philippines Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE)-Go Negosyo Mentor Jordan Willy Patente, marketing and branding strategies taught by PCE-Go Negosyo Mentor Florlyn Dela Pena, and financial management tackled by PCE-Go Negosyo Mentor Tristan Ian Cristobal.
Pasig City Local Economic Development and Investment Office (PCLEDIO) Officer-In-Charge Atty. Diego Luis Santiago and Economist III Crisostomo Ian Veron Cruz also discussed the city's initiatives and programs aimed at supporting the women entrepreneurs in Pasig.
Participants also learned the development of leadership and professional skills from Pasig City Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (PACCII) President Michelle Ballesteros.
Cooperative Development Office (CDO) supervising cooperative specialist John Troy Sunga discussed the ways on how businesswomen can enhance and expand their businesses with the help of cooperatives.
Highlight of the event was the panel discussion where successful women entrepreneurs shared their success stories.
According to the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), the Women’s Month celebration has served as a venue to highlight women’s achievements and discuss continuing and emerging women’s empowerment and gender equality issues and concerns, challenges, and commitments.
It added that the celebration focuses on concrete activities that are aligned with national and international instruments and treaties such as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, the Beijing Platform for Action, the Philippine Plan for Gender-Responsive Development (1995-2025), the Framework Plan for Women, and the Sustainable Development Goals.
