FDA warns against false endorsements of health products on social media
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) warned the public regarding the proliferation of false endorsements of health products across various social media platforms.

In a statement as of March 25, the FDA emphasized that its officials and employees are strictly prohibited from endorsing any health products regulated by the agency.
It reiterated that such endorsements hold “no authority” and are in direct violation of existing regulations.
This warning came as a response to the increasing trend of unauthorized endorsements of health products, which can mislead consumers and pose serious health risks.
The agency said that based on Republic Act No. 9711, also known as the “Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009,” the manufacture, importation, exportation, sale, distribution, promotion, advertising, or sponsorship of health products without proper authorization from the FDA is strictly prohibited.
To combat the spread of false endorsements and safeguard public health, the FDA urged consumers to exercise caution and diligence.
Individuals were advised to verify the registration or notification status of health products with the FDA using the FDA Verification Portal.
