7 killed in Davao City war vs drugs


DAVAO CITY – Two more drug pushers died in buy-bust operations here before dawn on Tuesday, March 26, bringing the death toll to seven since Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte declared a war on illegal drugs in this city last March 22.

Police Capt. Hazel Tuazon, spokesperson for the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified the suspects as Elisado “Lupin” Paquibot, a resident of Rasay St., Toril Poblacion, and “Ninin.”

Recovered from Paquibot were sachets of suspected shabu with an estimated value of P12,396 and a .38 caliber revolver.

Ninin yielded four sachets of suspected shabu weighing 6.1 grams with an estimated value of P97,600 and a .38 caliber revolver.

Tuazon said suspects resisted arrest and fired at apprehending lawmen who returned fire and killed them.

The DCPO has arrested a total of 17 drug suspects in 21 buy-bust operations conducted from March 22 to 26.

Tuazon said that police have so far confiscated 202.64 grams of shabu  60.36 grams of marijuana with an estimated combined value of P1,385,195.20.
