2 suspects arrested after killing man in Baseco Compound

Two men were arrested after they shot dead their companion in Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila on Tuesday, March 26, the Manila Police District (MPD) said.
MPD identified the suspects as John Pascua, 28, a resident of Binondo, and Ramon Sombe, 34, of Baseco Compound.
Police said the incident occurred in Barangay 649, Baseco Compound, Port Area, around 4 a.m.
According to the witnesses, the suspects and victim alias "Ronald" were seen walking and talking with each other along Block-1 Gasangan.
They said Pascua suddenly drew his firearm and shot the victim in the head which resulted in his immediate death.
The suspects fled on foot after the shooting.
Witnesses reported the incident to the Baseco Police Station.
Responding officers found the victim lying on the road.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) said the victim had a lone gunshot wound in the head and a hematoma on the left eye.
The victim's body was brought to the Body and Light Funerals in Quezon City.
Meanwhile, MPD immediately launched a follow-up operation and the suspects through the help of the witnesses.
Recovered from the suspects was a .38-caliber revolver loaded with three live ammunition.
The motive of the killing is yet to be established, police said.
MPD said the suspects are facing murder charges.
