These promotees – 148 police commissioned officers (PCO) and 2,008 police non-commissioned officers – were complemented by 264 new recruits assigned to regional support units.
Two were promoted to police lieutenant colonel, 17 majors, 32 captains, 97 lieutenants, 219 executive master sergeants, 327 chief master sergeants, senior master sergeants, 637 master sergeant, staff sergeant, and 217 corporals.
Philippine National Police chief Police Gen. Benjamin C. Acorda Jr., in his message, cited the PNP’s steadfast commitment to supporting the aspirations of President Ferdinand R. Marcos and his vision for a “Bagong Pilipinas” (New Philippines).
Acorda urged all PNP personnel to ensure that all their actions are consistently guided by the principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability.
“As you assume new roles and responsibilities, I would like to offer some guidance as your chief PNP. Firstly, remember that with higher rank comes greater accountability and leadership expectations. Secondly, lead by example, uphold the principles of integrity and professionalism, and lastly, prioritize the safety and well-being of the communities we serve as a demonstration of your love for our country,” said Acorda.
Evangelista said that their promotion is an organizational success.
“Promotion reflects hard work and dedication, bringing new opportunities and growth. With each step up, more responsibility follows. It also nurtures the rise of new leaders within you, echoing your journey,” said Evangelista.
