Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday, March 25, expressed her hopes for peace and unity among Filipinos in observance of the Holy Week.
“Kasama sa aking panalangin ang kapayapaan at pagkakaisa para sa ating bansa (My prayers include peace and unity for our country),” the official said in a video message.
May this opportunity serve as an inspiration for us to continue pursuing our godly and democratic goals for the nation and to build a peaceful country),” she added.
In the Holy Bible, Duterte furthered, Jesus Christ had shown His love for people by sacrificing His life and being nailed on the cross.
That’s why I wish that in our reflection, let us remember His goodness. Let us put in our hearts and minds His sacrifices and let us continue strengthening our faith),” Duterte said.
May his lessons and words be our guide in our everyday lives).”
All over the world, the Christian faithful will observe the Holy Week, which began on Palm Sunday, March 24, until Easter Sunday, March 31.
Holy Week is a time of devotion to the Passion of Jesus Christ.
