BACOLOD CITY – A 43-year-old tricycle driver was stabbed to death during a heated altercation with a 27-year-old man in Barangay San Agustin, Isabela, Negros Occidental on Sunday, March 24.
Police said the victim, whose name was withheld, passed by the barangay covered court from his sister’s house when the suspect attacked him with a bladed weapon.
The suspect fled and the victim was taken to the Ignacio Lacson Arroyo Memorial District Hospital where he was declared dead due to a stab wound in the chest.
Police Capt. Ar-jay Dangarang, Isabela police chief, said tension between the victim and the suspect erupted while they were attending a disco in the barangay the night before the incident.
Suspect remains at large.
Meanwhile, police arrested a 37-year-old fish vendor in a buy-bust operation in Purok Langis, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City on Saturday, March 23.
Police Capt. Rondyl Tapang, head of Police Station 3, said the suspect, Madam, a street-level individual, yielded 55 grams of suspected shabu worth P374,000.
Drug charges are being readied against the suspect.
