The NSED in the Philippines is an activity designed to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of local government units, offices, and schools in terms of their preparedness, response, contingency, and recovery plans and policies during earthquakes.
It serves to remind people of the dangers posed by earthquakes and to educate them on ways to survive when such an event occurs.
