Napolcom: 8,399 pass PNP entrance exams; 5,021 cops ready for promotion
A total of 8,399 examinees were able to pass the Philippine National Police Entrance Examination that was held in December last year, the National Police Commission (Napolcom) disclosed on Monday, March 25.
At the same time, Napolcom also disclosed that a total of 5,021 policemen, out of the 8,732 examinees, also passed the PNP Promotional Examinations.
In a statement, Napolcom stated that the 2023 PNP Entrance Examination has 28.76 percent passing rate while the passing rate for the promotion exams was at 57.50 percent.
The 5,021 passers are composed of 39 passers for Police Major and Police Lieutenant Colonel ranks; 234 for Police Lieutenant to Police Captain ranks; 2,897 for Police Master Sergeant, Police Senior Master Sergeant, Police Chief Master Sergeant and Police Executive Master Sergeant ranks; and, 1,851 for Police Corporal and Police Staff Sergeant ranks.
On the other hand, Napolcom said the eligibility conferred upon passing the PNPE Examination is one of the requirements for appointment in the PNP as a Patrolman/Patrolwoman, “while passing the promotional examination is considered appropriate for promotion to a higher rank.”
Napolcom said the complete list of passers will be posted at its One-Stop Shop (NOSS), 7th Floor, Napolcom Central Office at the corner of EDSA Quezon Avenue, West Triangle, Quezon City.
It said the complete list can also be viewed at the NAPOLCOM website at www.napolcom.gov.ph.
“Individual Certificate of Eligibility (for examination passers) and Report of Rating (for unsuccessful examinees) will be sent by mail to all examinees. Certification of successful examinees may be issued upon request both at the NAPOLCOM Central and Regional Offices,” it said in a statement.
