The Cool Smashers clash with the dangerous Cignal HD Spikers in the 6 p.m. nightcap eager to improve their 5-1 win-loss tally and untangle themselves from a three-way logjam on top with the Choco Mucho Flying Titans and the PLDT High Speed Hitters.
Raising the curtain were Petro Gazz (4-2) and Capital1 (1-5) as they square off at 2 p.m., followed by Chery Tiggo (4-2) and Nxled (1-4) at 4 p.m.
The Angels are out to bounce back from a stinging five-set defeat to the Crossovers last week, while the Solar Spikers seek to end a three-game slump.
Chery Tiggo, meanwhile, tries to continue its morale-boosting performances after back-to-back victories over fancied squads Creamline and Petro Gazz, even as Nxled hopes to recover from a three-set defeat over sister team Akari.
But focus will be on Creamline as it tries to sustain its recent three-set triumph over Capital1 to continue regaining its usual fiery form that had them winning 19 straight games before that recent painful defeat.
The troika of Tots Carlos, Jema Galanza and Michele Gumabao are expected to fuel the Cool Smashers anew along with strong reinforcements in Alyssa Valdez, Bernadeth Pons and Pangs Panaga.
But HD Spikers are not to be intimidated as they boast of a robust roster composed of Vanie Gandler, Ces Molina, Riri Meneses and Jovelyn Gonzaga.
