Winners are first timers going to Baguio City by bus on Maundy Thursday and lucky visitors will have free hotel, food, guided tour in tourist spots, and souvenirs for four days or until Easter Sunday.
The project in partnership with the city government of Baguio, province of Benguet, municipality of Pugo, La Union, and the Department of Tourism starts with a media camp at Burnham Park on Holy Monday participated in by media practitioners, students and information officers from the government and private sector, and concludes on Easter Sunday with a grand sendoff of winners.
Winners will be chosen by the BCBC Selection Committee at the Flying V Gas Station in Pugo, followed by a welcome ceremony from local officials of Baguio, Benguet, Pugo, and the towns of Tuba and Tublay in Benguet.
The private sector led by Hotel Supreme – the official residence of the BCBC LSV 2024 – owned by the Ng family also pitched in for the project. They have been upholding the media club's tradition for decades.
BCBC President Thomas Picana said the BCBC LSV was created by media elders who aimed to help promote the Summer Capital of the country as a major tourist destination especially during “summer.”
Founded in 1964, BCBC is the longest running media club in Northern Luzon.
