14 dead in van-truck collision in North Cotabato

At least 14 persons were killed in a road mishap in Antipas, North Cotabato shortly before 1 p.m. on Monday, March 25.

Three others were  reportedly injured in the incident.

According to Antipas rescuers, the driver of the  dump truck loaded with gravel and sand reportedly lost control of the vehicle and collided with the passenger van. 

The passenger van caught fire as a result.

The van was bound for Kidapawan City and the dump truck to Antipas.

The accident area was 10 kilometers from the  town proper.

Most fatalities were residents of Antipas and burned to death. Others were thrown out of the van and sprawled on the road.
