Phivolcs: No aftershock, damage from 4.9-magnitude quake in Surigao del Sur
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said there was no aftershock or damage to properties that may occur due to the 4.9-magnitude quake in Surigao del Sur.

Phivolcs said the earthquake jolted Surigao del Sur at 2:22 p.m. on Sunday, March 24.
It also located the tremor’s epicenter 17 kilometers (km) southeast of Marihatag, Surigao del Sur.
The tremor, which occurred at a depth of 27 km, was tectonic or caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
Phivolcs initially recorded the earthquake at magnitude 5.3 before it was revised to magnitude 4.9.
