The Manila Police District (MPD) said on Sunday, March 24, that a follow-up operation is being conducted to arrest the suspect in the killing of a man in Tondo, Manila on Friday, March 22.
MPD said that the suspect is still unidentified.
The victim's body with multiple gunshot wounds was found on Rawis Street in Barangay 118, Tondo at around 3:30 a.m. on Friday.
Police said the incident was reported to them by the sister of the victim.
They said the suspect immediately fled after committing the crime.
Authorities are still investigating the motive behind the killing.
In a media interview, the mother of the victim said they do not know the reason behind the shooting incident.
Barangay 118 personnel said the family of the victim had just recently moved in to their village.
“Kung sino man po 'yung gumawa niyan, ba't naman po niya ginanyan 'yung anak ko. Hindi naman po salbaheng bata ‘yan eh. Sana po makonsensiya siya (To whoever killed my son, why do you have to do that? He's not a bad person. I hope he's bothered by his conscience for what he did),” the victim's mother said.
