Man shot dead by live-in partner's lover in Talisay City

BACOLOD CITY – A 28-year-old man was shot dead by his live-in partner’s alleged boyfriend due to jealousy in their house in Barangay Zone 14-A, Talisay City, Negros Occidental on Saturday, March 23.

Police identified the victim as Jaylord Lamag.

Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., deputy chief of the Talisay City Police Station, said Lamag and his live-in partner were sleeping when the 40-year-old suspect arrived.

The victim was awakened by barking dogs and checked outside where the suspect shot him.

The suspect fled and the victim was taken to a hospital where he died due to a lone bullet wound in the nape.

The suspect sought refuge in his friend’s house in Barangay Dos Hermanas, Talisay City where he was arrested.

Benoman said murder charges will be filed against the suspect.
