'Encouraging, overwhelming': House leaders react to Tangere survey on Cha-cha

Ranking congressmen have described as "encouraging" the "overwhelming" support shown by Filipinos to the effort to enact economic-themed amendments to the 1987 Constitution, as shown by the results of the latest Tangere survey.
Two of the ranking solons, Deputy Speaker Quezon 2nd district Rep. David "Jay-jay" Suarez and Majority Leader Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Manuel Jose "Mannix" Dalipe, were two of the three primary authors of Resolution of Both Houses (RBH) No.7, which bats for economic Charter change (Cha-cha).
"The overwhelming support for Cha-cha revealed in the survey is a testament to the Filipino people's desire for meaningful reforms," Suarez said In a statement Sunday, March 24.
Dalipe said: “The survey results underscore the widespread recognition among Filipinos of the need for change and reform."
“It is encouraging to see that a majority of our citizens are in favor of Cha-cha, signaling a collective desire for progress and improvement,” he added.
The third author of RBH No.7 is Senior Deputy Speaker Pampanga 3rd district Rep. Aurelio "Dong" Gonzales. Gonzales is the second-highest ranked member of the House of Representatives, next only to Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Meanwhile, Deputy Majority Leader Iloilo 1st district Rep. Janette Garin similarly welcomed the favorable view of Filipinos on the bid for constitutional revision.

She said the survey findings provide a clear mandate for action, and prompts House members to renew their commitment to further advancing Cha-cha initiatives in Congress.
“We in the House stand ready to translate the will of the Filipino people into tangible legislative reforms that will benefit our nation for generations to come,” Garin said.
Big data research firm Tangere's survey results showed that more than half, or 52 percent, of Filipinos support Cha-cha.
