Electrician electrocuted in Batangas

TAYSAN, Batangas – A 39-year-old electrician died after he was electrocuted while working in Barangay Laurel here on Saturday afternoon, March 23.

Police identified the victim as Juancho Rizare, married, of Barangay San Miguel, Padre Garcia, Batangas.

Investigation said Rizare, who was employed by a construction company, touched a live wire while fixing the electrical wires of the newly constructed day-care center at the barangay session hall.

His co-workers turned off the circuit breaker and took him to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Police said Rizare was not wearing proper safety gadgets and no safety officer was on site when the incident happened.

Lawmen are conducting further investigation.
