8 fugitives caught in Caraga


BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested eight wanted persons in the Caraga region on Friday, March 22.

Police Regional Office 13-Regional Public Information Office  chief Police Major Jennifer S. Omater said that Bern was arrested in Agusan del Sur for acts of lasciviousness in Talacogon, Agusan del Sur against a 16-year-old girl in 2016.

Bern’s warrant of arrest was issued by a court in Bayugan City, Agusan del Sur dated March 21, 2024. No bail was recommended for his temporary freedom.

Art and Jeffrey were caught in Surigao del Norte for violating Republic Act No. 8048 or the Coconut Preservation Act of 1995, as amended by Republic Act No. 10593, and qualified rape, respectively.

Alon and alias Cath were taken into custody for two counts of grave coercion and Feverl for unjust vexation in connection with RA No. 7610, the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act, and grave threats in Surigao del Sur, Ometer said.

Ronald was nabbed for violating an ordinance in Agusan del Norte and Bert in Butuan City for violating Presidential Decree No. 705 or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.

PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Kirby John B. Kraft said the continuing arrest of wanted persons in the region proves the sincere and dedication of the police in enforcing their tasks.

“The arrests underscore the dedication and commitment of Caraga cops to maintain peace and order in the region, sending a strong message to those involved in criminal activities that they will soon fall to the PNP-Caraga’s law enforcement operations.”
