1 dead, 11 hurt in tricycle, motorcycle collision

MULANAY, Quezon – A boy died and 11 were injured in a collision between a tricycle and a motorcycle on Saturday afternoon, March 23, in Sitio Baginbagin, Barangay Pakiing, this town.

Police identified the fatality as tricycle passenger Clarvin Joy Paz of this town.

The injured were occupants of the tricycle – two three-years-old, two four-years-old, five, seven, 12, the 14-year-old driver, Flor Robles Paz, 32, and Roselyn Retardo, 30 – and the driver of the motorcycle, a 15-year-old boy.

Investigation said the tricycle suddenly collided with the motorcycle on the opposite lane while ascending the farm-to-market road.

The motorcycle driver faces charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, multiple physical injuries, and damage to property.
