1,696 cops secure Holy Week in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera has deployed 1,696 policemen to secure the  Cordillera region this Holy Week.

Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., PRO-Cordillera chief, said they are deployed in major thoroughfares and transportation hubs, malls, parks, markets, and churches.

Peredo instructed them to coordinate with their local government units on traffic management, particularly Baguio City and the province of Benguet, where majority of tourist arrivals are expected.

The BCPO is implementing “Oplan: Ligtas Sumvac” measures for the Holy Week, centered on crime prevention and solution and traffic management with volunteers and civic groups.

The BCPO deployed 1,000 police personnel in churches, tourist spots, convergence zones, bus terminals, and traffic chokepoints in the city.
