Mayor Honey to city officials: Pray, meditate, rest, reboot

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan encouraged city officials to use the holiday break to pray, meditate, rest, and reboot.
The advice was also given to city hall employees and residents of Manila, given the upcoming long weekend and the start of the Holy Week.
"Sa darating na Semana Santa ay mabibigyan tayo muli ng pagkakataong makapagnilay-nilay (In the coming Holy Week we will be given the opportunity to meditate again)," she said.
"Gamitin po natin ito upang makapag-reboot, makapagpahinga, makapagdasal, makapag-isip, nang sa gayon, pagbalik natin ay handang-handa na tayo para muling maglingkod sa ating mga kapwa Manileños (Let's use it to reboot, rest, pray, think, so that when we come back we will be ready to serve our fellow Manileños again)," the mayor added.
The lady mayor reiterated that apart from their own families and relatives, many residents of Manila need help and have no one else to turn to but their local government.
"Tayo lamang ang inaasahan ng ating mga kababayan kaya sana po ay gampanan natin ang ating mga tungkulin nang wasto (Locals expect our support, so I hope we will perform our duties properly)," she also said.
Meanwhile, Mayor Honey led the Third Manila Women's Summit at the Open Air Auditorium in Rizal Park on March 19, where she spearheaded an interactive talk with 1,000 people from different organizations and offices.
She was joined by Manila Department of Social Welfare Officer-in-Charge Re Fugoso, National Parks Development Committee Chief of Administrative Division Rena Jara, and Chairperson of Committee on Women and Family Relations Councilor Krystle Marie Bacani.
The interactive talk on women's importance in the environment was hosted by Department of Public Services Office-In-Charge Kayle Nicole Amurao, environmental activist Dr. Noemi Lachica-Licuanan, and Aling Tindera beneficiary Lorme Villarba.
