This information was revealed by Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) officer-in-charge Hans Cacdac, citing Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs Eduardo de Vega.
“We received information from Usec Ed de Vega of the @DFAPHL that no Filipino was hurt in the latest terrorist attack in a concert hall in Moscow,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“Our deepest sympathies and prayers for the families of the victims of the attack,” the official added.
Reports from local media said assailants stormed the vast Crocus City Hall with guns and incendiary devices and left 60 people dead and 145 injured.
Terror group ISIS has since responsibility for the attack through its affiliated news agency Amaq. It has yet to provide evidence for the claim.
Video footages showed the complex, home to both a music hall and shopping center, on fire as state media RIA Novosti reported that armed individuals opened fire and threw a grenade that started the fire.
This has been the deadliest terror attack in Moscow in decades which came after Russian President Vladimir Putin won a state-managed election by a majority for another term in office.
An earlier report from the DFA said there are 10,000 Filipinos in Russia, with about 8,000 of them in the capital Moscow.
