The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said two dangerous heat indices were recorded on Saturday, March 23.

PAGASA said a heat index of 42°C was felt in Puerto Princesa, Palawan and in Cotabato City, Maguindanao.
With this heat index level, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are “likely,” while heat stroke is probable, said PAGASA.
PAGASA warned the public to limit going outside and to always stay hydrated.
It also advised the public to avoid drinking tea, coffee, soda, and liquor and to do heavy-duty activities in the afternoon when the temperature is cooler.
Heat indices in most areas of the country remained under the “extreme caution” category (33-41°C) where continuing activity could also lead to heat stroke.
