SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union – One-hundred twenty-one wanted persons were arrested in a three-day Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operation (SACLEO) in Region 1 (Ilocos) from March 11 to 13.

Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, Police Regional Office-1 chief, said a total of 155 warrants of arrest were served and 121 wanted individuals were apprehended.
Evangelista said 154 anti-drug operations were conducted, in which 44 suspected drug pushers were caught and 211.984 grams of shabu and 86.35 grams of dried marijuana leaves valued at P1.4 million were confiscated.
One-hundred sixteen persons were nabbed for illegal gambling in 31 operations. Recovered from them were P47,275 in bet money.
Five persons were apprehended and three undocumented guns were seized in six operations in the campaign against loose firearms.
Ninety-nine illegal firearms were accounted for – six recovered, 74 surrendered, and 19 deposited.
Evangelista cited operating units for their achievements.
