West Visayas State University entrance exam retake on April 14

ILOILO CITY – The West Visayas State University (WVSU) announced that the retake of its College Admission Test (CAT) will be held on April 14.

“Only those previously registered and have taken the March 10, 2024 WVSU CAT will be allowed to take the new WVSU Admission Examination (WVSUAE),” said the public advisory released on Friday, March 22, 2024, more than a week after a controversy erupted.

A public uproar when a photo of a page from CAT made rounds on Facebook last week prompted the WVSU under the leadership of President Dr. Joselito Villaruz to invalidate the results of 20,925 examinees.

Testing sites in the retake are its main campus in Iloilo City and its satellite campuses in four towns in Iloilo province – Calinog, Janiuay, Lambunao, and Pototan – as well as Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, Kalibo town, Aklan province; Roxas City, Capiz province; San Jose de Buenavista town, Antique province; Bacolod City, Negros Occidental province; Puerto Princesa City, Palawan; Cebu City, Cebu province; Tacloban City, Leyte province, and South Cotabato province.

“We advise the examinees to check their respective emails regularly to keep them updated. We will be announcing the final venues for examination sites that are yet to be arranged (TBA) soon,” the WVSU added.
