CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police seized P38.8 million worth of shabu and marijuana in a week-long anti-illegal drug operation in the Cordillera region from March 11 to 17.
Eleven suspected drug pushers were arrested during the operation.
Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. said 30.12 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P204,816 were recovered from the suspects – five high-value drug personalities and six street-level individuals.
The Benguet Provincial Police Office apprehended four, the Baguio City Police Office and Kalinga PPO with three each, and Abra PPO one.
Lawmen uprooted and burned 109,170 fully grown marijuana plants, 937 leaves and fruiting tops, and 139,000 stalks, valued at P38.6 million.
These were burned afterwards and police are conducting follow-up operations to locate other marijuana plantations and cultivators.
Seized shabu and the 11 suspects are in the custody of arresting units for documentation and proper disposition. They face drug-related charges.
