Philippine Red Cross intensifies commitment to health, beauty caravan
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) announced in a statement on Friday, March 22, its commitment to intensifying collaboration with the launch of this year's Health and Beauty Caravan.

The PRC said the initiative was spearheaded by PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard "Dick" Gordon, which is part of the organization's efforts to bring health services directly to communities.
The program offers free health consultations, distributes health kits, promotes hygiene practices, offers first aid training and blood typing services, a mother's kit for pregnant women, routine immunization, and hot meals to those in need.
"With the kindness of Chairman and CEO Richard "Dick" Gordon and Secretary General Dr. Gwen (and through the Health and Beauty Caravan), all the people (in) communities can experience the Red Cross care," PhilHair President and beauty guru Ricky Reyes said in an interview last March 20.

For her part, Pang reiterated that the PRC is 100 percent committed to the initiative.
"We have recruited and trained over 500 new volunteers to accommodate the Health and Beauty Caravan," she said.
Pang added that this year, the PRC is targeting to reach 10,000 individuals to volunteer.
The caravan was launched on March 14, 2022. Since then, the PRC has collaborated with beauty salons to conduct health fairs in 67 communities that provided services to over 15,000 people, including mothers and senior citizens.
