Marcial excited to fight in front of boxing great Pacquiao

But there's no greater figure that is bigger than boxing great Manny Pacquiao who will be seated at ringside to witness Marcial's attempt to wow the Filipino crowd at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila on Saturday, March 23.

The 28-year-old Zamboangeno expressed his admiration to Pacquiao, saying that he is longing to watch him live and see the greatness of the only eight-division world champion. This time, however, it will be the boxer-turned-politician who will catch the action with the home crowd in the 8-round bout.

“Alam niyo, pangarap ko lang na mapanood ‘yung laban niya. And hanggang ngayon, hinintay ko pa rin na sana makalaban pa si Sir Manny. Pero kung hindi man po mangyari yun kahit siya na po ang manood sa laban ko,” Marcial said.

“Kaya ayun, malaking bagay po iyon ma-boost yung confidence and energy ko and of course para sa darating na Paris Olympics,” he added.

There will be no rest for Marcial as he will join other national boxers in a US training camp a few days after the fight.

“After ng laban na ito, God willing po, by God’s grace, makuha natin ang panalo, kukunin natin ang panalo. Balik ako agad sa training para sa preparation for Paris Olympics,” he added.
