It's a dream come true for Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Eumir Marcial as he faces Thoedsak Sinam of Thailand right in front of his home fans on Saturday, March 23, at Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.

Marcial, 28, who remained unscathed in his professional career with a 4-0 record, will exchange blows with Sinam (23-13, 19KOs) in their 8-round super-middleweight clash.
The prized fighter from Zamboanga City tipped the scales at 165 pounds while his Thai rival at 168, enough to proceed to the main event of the fight card that will also feature rising Filipino pugs.
Marcial expressed his excitement to fight here in the country and be witnessed by his local fans.
“Ito yung laban na matagal ko nang pinapangarap na makalaban dito sa Pilipinas. Sabi ko kahit hindi main event, pero ito ngayon, main event,” Marcial said after their weigh in at Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Friday, March 22.
“Itong laban na ito, part ng preparation ko for Olympic dahil after kong mag-qualify last year sa Asian Games, wala na po akong exposure, wala na po akong laban so dito sa darating ko na laban, naging tuloy tuloy preparation ko,” he added.
Marcial also tempered expectations, noting that he can’t take Sinam for granted and underscored that he respects every fighter he faces in the ring.
“Ako, kahit four professional fights pa lang ako, andami ko nang na-experience sa boxing,” Marcial stressed.
“Hindi ko pwedeng balewalain every fighter dahil lahat ng fighter, naghahanda, ilang taon nilang pinag-aralan ang kanilang technique, so para sa akin, focus lang ako na ipanalo ang laban na ito and hindi pwedeng makumpiyansa dahil sobrang experienced itong kalaban,” he added.
In his last bout, Marcial scored a second round technical knockout win over Argentina's Ricardo Villalba in Feb. 2023.
He is using the fight as a springboard to his ultimate goal of winning the gold medal in the Paris Olympics.
