Davao City gov't welcomes arrival of learning hub

DAVAO CITY – The city government has welcomed the establishment of a learning hub here.

Mayor Sebastian "Baste" Duterte, in his message, congratulated the Craft Learning Hub and Training Center, a place where people can enhance their skills through training and assessments, on its inauguration.

Duterte said the state-of-the-art vocational training facility and learning hub that opened on Monday, March 18, will inspire people from diverse backgrounds in Davao to acquire specialized skills, improve capabilities, and discover new opportunities for personal and professional development.

"Let us celebrate the opening of these facilities and the beginning of endless possibilities and dreams for Davaoeños to embrace the chances that await us. Let us work hand-in-hand in building a resilient and progressive community. Thank you very much," Duterte said.

Councilor Temujin "Tek" Ocampo, chairman of the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources, said the Craft Learning Hub will enhance and strengthen the current training centers and schools in this city, offering opportunities for skill improvement and self-empowerment.

Ocampo and the rest of the city councilors affirmed their backing for the new establishment, looking forward to future partnerships and shared initiatives that would benefit the people here.

Craft Learning Hub president Albert Lumanlan thanked guests and partners, most especially to the force behind the realization of the learning hub and training center. He encouraged everyone to embark on a voyage of discovery, innovation, and endless possibility with the new hub in this city.

Lumanlan said the Craft Learning Hub aims to be a distinguished training center for skills enhancement and evaluation services by offering tailor-fitted programs to the wider community, which offers a diverse range of training and assessment services that provide high-quality facilities for the better development of valuable skills.

Craft Learning Hub executive vice president Mike Trinidad said they are offering services such as corporate training, events management services, facility rental, and livelihood training. He added that the hub features state-of-the art event spaces equipped with up-to-date design and modern audio-visual facilities.

"The hub also has ample seating to accommodate participants’ requirements. It also has a dedicated event support team, and offers competitive rental packages," Trinidad said.

Center Administrator Kristina Libang said the establishment of the hub here signifies their ongoing journey and commitment to empowering the people of Davao with the necessary skills and competencies to improve their quality of life and attain meaningful employment opportunities.

"As Craft Learning Hub finally opens its doors, we bear witness to the fruit of our labor, beacon of hope and opportunity for the people of Davao and beyond," Libang said.

Also in attendance during the opening of the hub in a hotel here were barangay officials from the second district of Davao City, department heads, and other government branches attended the afternoon program.
