It's OK to be OA: NPC reminds public to 'exaggerate' online passwords
By Sonny Daanoy
Due to recent hacking incidents, the National Privacy Commission (NPC) on Friday, March 22, said it is better to be Over Acting (OA) and choose complicated passwords for online accounts.

"It's okay to be exaggerated when it comes to choosing passwords," NPC said in Filipino on its social media post.
"Use alphanumeric and special characters that are hard to guess. Also, remember to change your password every three months," it added.
In addition to employing complex passwords, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Cybersecurity released seven tips on Feb. 7 to help the public prevent hackers from stealing identities online.

Some of those are: "beware of ads," "never click on suspicious links," and "only connect to trusted networks."

Furthermore, the NPC noted: "When your accounts are secure, you won't get frustrated, and your day won't be ruined."
