Falling boulder kills heavy equipment operator in Batangas

A heavy equipment operator was crushed to death by a falling boulder on Thursday noon, March 21, in Sitio Mahabang Parang, Barangay Toong Tuy, Batangas.

The victim was identified as Bebon Caliso, 34, of Barangay Bantayan, Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.

Police said Caliso was seated on a backhoe eating lunch when a huge boulder suddenly rolled down from a quarry site.

The rock fell on the backhoe and crushed Caliso to death.

The victim was just on his sixth day of working as a backhoe operator when he died.
