The two-week-long celebration kicked off last March 1 with an opening Mass, or Misa Pasasalamat, at the San Pedro Cathedral.

It was followed by different activities such as the Pasiugdang Pagsaulog and Konsierto Dabawenyo, where various artists such as Juan Karlos, Aegis, The Champs, and Point Blank serenaded Davaoeños.

Several festivities were also conducted, such as the Kalingawan sa Distrito, a mini-concert that went around the three political districts in the city, which was made for Davaoeños who were not able to join the festivities in the downtown area.

A discussion on the history of Davao was also held during the Dabawenyo Ako talk, and the coronation night of the local pageant, Mutya ng Dabaw, was one of the anticipated events of the celebration.

“Thank you so much to everyone who supported and joined to make the 87th Araw ng Dabaw a happy and meaningful celebration. Let’s continue to unite and stay disciplined for the peace and development of our city. Happy Araw ng Dabaw to all of us!”
