Maynilad Water Services, Inc. (Maynilad) started repairing the broken pipe in Malate, Manila that caused some barangays to lose their water supply on Friday, March 22.

The broken pipe was located along the corner of San Andres and Singalong Streets in Malate.
As of 11:26 a.m., it said that the leak repair is already ongoing and an adjustment has also been made to the interconnection valve to reduce the leak.
According to Maynilad, the pipe was reportedly broken on Thursday, March 21, after a third-party contractor of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) hit it, which was conducting a drainage improvement project in the area.
It added that the broken pipe was immediately repaired on Thursday night.
However, it was damaged again on Friday morning after some individuals allegedly moved the pipe.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway, Maynilad stated.
