2 laborers electrocuted in Kabankalan City

BACOLOD CITY – Two laborers were electrocuted while digging a deep well in Sitio Pispis, Barangay Tapi, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental on Thursday, March 21.

Police identified the victims as Warlito Rola, 47, and his brother-in-law Haneboy Antemo, 38, residents of Barangay Magballo, Kabankalan City.

Police Lt. Col. Roberto Indiape Jr., Kabankalan police chief, said the victims inadvertently touched a live wire from a main line of a power supplier while holding a tubular pipe for drilling.

The victims sustained serious burns and their parts of their bodies were severed, Indiape said.

They were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.
