In a X (formerly Twitter) post by United States Ambassador to Manila MaryKay Carlson earlier this week, she gave homage to her fellow women envoys.
“This #WomensHistoryMonth, these strong women who represent their countries as ambassadors to the Philippines are making great strides, working together as we pursue stronger relations with the Philippines,” she wrote.
Carlson accompanied her post with hashtags #DiplomacyMatters and #WomenAtWork.
The ambassador also included a photo with her post, showing the envoy lined up for a group photo.
She then used the flag emojis of the countries they each represent.
On Thursday, March 21, she shared another post about her meeting with Colombian Ambassador Marcela Ordoñez.
“#WomenAtWork for stronger (the Philippines, US, and Colombia) ties! Great conversation with my friend Amb. @MarcelaOrdonezF on our countries' work with the Philippines to achieve shared goals and priorities. #DiplomacyMatters,” Carlson wrote.
Aside from Carlson and Ordoñez, the photo included Ambassadors Betty Palaso of Papua New Guinea, Megawati Manan of Brunei, Marie Fontanel of France, Constance See of Singapore, Marielle Geraedts of the Netherlands, Hae Kyong Yu of Australia, Annika Thunborg of Sweden, Laure Beaufils of the United Kingdom, and Raduta Matache of Romania.
Also in the photo was Chantale Wong of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Women’s History Month is celebrated every March to honor women’s contributions and recognize their achievements in various fields.
