'Dugong Alay, Sagip Buhay!': Pasig TODA members urged to donate blood
In a bid to further increase Pasig's blood supply and promote the benefits of donating blood, the Tricycle Operation and Regulatory Office (TORO) of the city urged members of Tricycle Operators and Drivers Associations (TODA) to participate in the blood donation drive on Friday, March 22.
Dubbed as "TODA Bayanihan: Dugong Alay, Sagip Buhay!”, the bloodletting drive will be held at the TORO Compound on F. Manalo St. in Barangay Sto. Tomas, Pasig City from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Pasigueño residents are also encouraged to participate in the said event.
In March of last year, Pasig City Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski spearheaded a blood donation drive in the city where around 500 blood donors, including residents from across the city and members of government institutions like the local police, came in support of the program.
The mayor also called on the public’s continued support to the bloodletting initiatives and other health programs of the Pasig local government and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC).
According to the PRC, citywide bloodletting drives are important, citing the difficulties it had experienced in meeting the high demands for blood transfusions amid low blood supplies during the Covid-19 pandemic.
It then assured that the organization is committed to helping local governments reach the public and promote blood donations.
