The Parañaque City government conducted the women workers' forum and mini job fair on Wednesday, March 20, at the Parañaque Sports Complex.
Mayor Eric Olivarez said the Anti-violence Against Women and Children Act of 2024 was discussed during the forum as well as common issues associated with woman’s right like entering into legal contracts, having equal rights to family law, fair wages, owning property and education.
After the forum, a mini job fair was held wherein from the total 139 women jobseekers, 33 were hired-on-the-spot.
The mayor said 30 companies participated in the mini job fair and offered 1,216 job vacancies to women residents.
Olivarez said the program, initiated by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), was conducted in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in celebration of National Women’s Month.
