Mayor Honey brings 'Capital Report' to city barangays

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan announced that the next "Capital Report" will be held in a barangay in the city's sixth district on Friday, March 22.
"Beginning Friday, Mayor Honey will be reporting about the goings-on in her administration straight to the citizens of Manila," the city government said.
It has not yet disclosed the exact barangay where the forum will be held.
The Capital Report serves as a venue where the mayor informs her constituency on the activities that the city government has undertaken for the past week or weeks.
It used to be held regularly inside the Manila City Hall and was livestreamed through the city's main Facebook page.
It is also where the mayor makes special announcements or imparts information that Manileños need to know.
Mayor Honey hopes that the city government will be brought even closer to the people it serves by bringing Capital Report to the city barangays.
She noted that "Kalinga sa Maynila" will continue operations.
While the Kalinga is being held from District 1 to District 6, the Capital Report, on the other hand, will begin from District 6 to District 1.
Kalinga sa Maynila is a regular forum in barangays where the mayor herself entertains complaints, questions, and suggestions from the residents in a no-holds-barred meeting.
It is also meant to bring the basic services of Manila City Hall directly to the communities.
She said she is bent on bringing the Manila City Hall closer to the people of Manila, getting them involved, and making them feel that their government is just within reach to serve them.
