Former President Duterte continues to lead Tangere's 2025 senatorial survey

Former President Rodrigo Duterte remains the top voter preference for the 2025 senatorial elections, based on Tangere’s survey conducted between March 7 and 10.
In the survey results released on Thursday, March 21, Tangere found 56 percent of respondents who said they would support the former president if he decided to run for the senate.
Tangere also noted that Duterte clearly benefited from Mindanao's support (23 percent), but performed poorly among older respondents (51 years old and higher, 12 percent) and in Metro Manila (12 percent).
Trailing him closely was ACT-CIS party-list Rep. Erwin Tulfo with 53 percent voter preference.
Incumbent Senator Bong Go (48 percent) and former Senator Tito Sotto (46 percent) also ranked high in the survey.
Meanwhile, Tangere said the “significant gainer” in the latest survey was television and radio personality Ben Tulfo (39 percent), who has moved up to 9th place and is solidifying his support base.
Rounding up the top 12 potential candidates were Senator Pia Cayetano (41 percent), Senator Imee Marcos (41 percent), former Senator Manny Pacquiao (40 percent), former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso (40 percent), Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa (38 percent), Senator Francis Tolentino (37 percent), and Senator Lito Lapid (37 percent).
Coming close to making the top 12 were social media personality and doctor Willie Ong (35 percent), former Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson (33 percent), television personality Willie Revillame (32 percent), Senator Bong Revilla (31 percent), and former Vice President Leni Robredo (27 percent)
“Interesting to note as well that key potential senatorial candidates that have been aligned with the former President Duterte’s administration’s opposition, such as former Vice President Leni Robredo, former Senators Kiko Pangilinan and Leila De Lima, and Atty. Chel Diokno, are more likely to gain their share of votes from the youth voting segment—18-25 years old,” Tangere said.
Tangere’s 2025 Senate survey, which was administered using a mobile-based respondent application, has a sample size of 2,400 participants.
The percentage of respondents was distributed throughout the country, with 12 percent coming from Metro Manila, 23 percent from Northern Luzon, 22 percent from Southern Luzon, 20 percent from Visayas, and 23 percent from Mindanao.
