Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Philippine Business Education (PBED) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on Wednesday, March 20, to facilitate the implementation of YouthWorks PH in the city.

YouthWorks PH is a joint project of PBED and USAID that focuses on enhancing employability of the youth and other vulnerable sectors. It aims to equip beneficiaries with essential job skills and improve their access to future employment opportunities.

Malapitan expressed his gratitude to the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), PBED, and USAID for spearheading the program in the city.

He reassured his constituents and the project proponents of his administration's unwavering support for livelihood and employment initiatives.
“Malugod ko pong ipinapahayag ang aking pasasalamat sa lahat ng mga bumubuo sa proyektong ito, lalong-lalo na po sa pagtutulungan ng PBED at USAID kasama ang PESO upang mabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga Batang Kankaloo na maghanap-buhay at magkaroon ng araw-araw na kita sa isang disenteng paraan (I am pleased to express my gratitude to everyone involved in this project, especially the collaboration between PBED and USAID, together with PESO, to provide the Batang Kankaloo with the opportunity to earn a living and have daily income in a decent manner),” he said.
“Lagi pong bukas ang aking administrasyon at ang buong pamahalaang lungsod sa lahat ng mga partnership na makakatulong sa hangarin nating bigyan ng buhay ang ating mga kababayan (My administration, along with the entire city government, is always open to all partnerships that will help us achieve our goal of giving our fellow citizens a better life),” he added.
The mayor emphasized that the MOU signing is just the beginning as more comprehensive youth development programs are already in progress for the year.
“Kasama ang YouthWorks PH, asahan po ninyo na mas palalawakin at palalakasin natin ang mga programa para sa mga kabataan upang mabigyan sila ng mas maraming pagkakataon na maging mabuting mga mamamayan, at nang sa gayon makatulong din sila sa mga kapwa nila Batang Kankaloo pagdating ng panahon (Together with YouthWorks PH, you can expect us to expand and strengthen programs for the youth to provide them with more opportunities to become good citizens. This way, they can also help their fellow Batang Kankaloo in the future),” he stated.
